Christian Lindberg (b. 1958) signs a 3-album recording contract with BIS Records. Within a short time he becomes possibly the first trombonist to sustain a career exclusively as a soloist, recording more than 60 albums, primarily for BIS Records, and performing more than 100 premieres of trombone concertos. In the 1990s he expands into composition, and, in 2000, into conducting (Nordic Chamber Orchestra and Swedish Wind Ensemble, and others).
