Betty Glover, one of the first female trombonists to be hired by a major symphony orchestra, becomes principal trombonist of the Kansas City Orchestra. In 1952 she joins the Cincinnati Symphony, where she performs as bass trombonist for 33 years, as well as teaching at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
