Hector Berlioz says, “The sound of the bass trombone is majestic, formidable and frightening. It has the right to the low part within the mass of the brasses. Unfortunately, we haven’t any in Paris, it is not taught in the Conservatory and no trombonist, until now, takes it seriously.”
