The American Musical Journal offers the following report of a concerto performance by trombonist Felippe Cioffi: “Signor Cioffi played a concerto, in a most inimitable style; the beauty of this performer’s tone, fine execution and every other requisite that constitutes good performance, renders every instance of their exhibition a source of the greatest pleasure” (Guion, Four American).
