Felippe Cioffi performs as featured soloist at the St. Charles Theater. Both the audience and the other musicians of the orchestra demand an encore, a sight which the popular newspaper The Bee proclaims unprecedented. The editor of the The Bee remarks, “Though we are not oversolicitous to hear such an instrument performed alone, we were very much pleased with the skill and taste evinced by Cioffi” (Kmen 210).
