According to the American Musical Journal, “On the closing of the Opera House, some of the spirited members of the Orchestra entered into an arrangement with Mr. Niblo for the use of his Saloon and Garden, and during the season a series of most excellent concerts have been given at this delightful place of resort…The violin solos of Mr. Halma, double base [sic] of Casolani, flute of Messrs. Cuddy and Kyle, trumpet of Gambati and Norton, horn of Aupick, trombone of Cioffi, and harp of Trust, formed a prominent feature in these concerts” (Guion, Four American).
