Carl Queisser performs as soloist on two separate occasions at the Gewandhaus, performing the Müller Concertino and a transcription of the Carl Maria von Weber Concerto for Horn. The reviewer of the Weber performance says, in the Allgemeine musikalischeZeitung, “The work does not seem to us to be entirely suited for the [trombone]” (Lewis, Gewandhaus).
