A new balcony is added to the tower of the city hall, and the town council subsequently orders the performance of a chorale or other “dignified” music from the tower every work day at 10:00 am. Later, during the second half of the 17th century, instrumentation for this music solidifies to an ensemble of 3 trombones and 2 cornetts (Whitwell, Baroque 157).
