A man by the name of François Robillard signs a contract with a company of hatters to provide 10 musicians for their celebrations on the feast of St. Michael. Apparently the activities are to take place outdoors, as the musicians are to play cornetts and violins if it does not rain, flutes and trombones if it does (Bate 228).
