A fresco by Erhard Sanssdorffer in the castle Grafenschloss depicts numerous musicians, grouped in 2 main ensembles. A trombone is included in the grouping on the right, along with a small bellows-keyboard instrument and what is probably a cornetto or a shawm (see below image; click to expand; public domain) (Salmen, Musikleben im 16 4).
