Elias Gottlob Haussmann, Portrait of Gottfried Reiche. Famous trumpet player and composer. Bach’s chief trumpeter at Leipzig. Reiche holds a coiled natural trumpet, a Jägertrompete, trans. hunting trumpet. The music he holds in his other hand is a short Abblasen or fanfare (see below; public domain).
