Are you a fan of the ophicleide? Some months ago I posted a collection of ophicleide images I had happened across while doing trombone research. Never one to leave well enough alone, I have expanded the post considerably since then, adding serpent images as well. I was very happy to find your blog. I read your article entitled Milan, fashion, opera and trombone? My 93 year old father has a trombone stamped “Milan” which is rotary valve style. He said that it was used by his uncle in the First World War, which dates it before 1917. He is considering selling it. It looks very much like the one in the photo in your article. I was wondering if you could help him find the value of it and also where he could sell it? thank you!
